This is one of the shade beds in my backyard, just beginning to wake up. The tulips and trillium are the first to bloom, followed by violets of several different varieties.
If anyone knows the names of these two, please e-mail me. I think that perhaps the purple one is a kind of phlox. It has round leaves that form a ground cover and the flowers are on stems that have longish leaves. Very strange. The gold one is a mystery................
